The Lanterna Mágica – International Animation Festival publishes the list of selected films for the competitive sessions. There were more than 350 entries received from different parts of the world and more than 60 selected productions, among Brazilians and countries like Greece, Germany, France, Poland, Argentina, Mexico and Colombia. The festival makes its debut in 2017 in the calendar of film festivals of the city of Goiânia (Goiás, Brazil) from June 13 to 18 at “Espaço Sonhus”, with the aim of promoting and spreading the world animation market.
The curator of the International Short Film Competition is by Ludielma Laurentino, editor, screenwriter, director and partner of “Panaceia Filmes”, as well as editor of the magazine “] Janela [“.
The National Short Film Session of Lanterna Mágica was curated by Ricardo de Podestá, who has acted as director, screenwriter, animator and creative director since 2001. He has participated in more than forty short films, nine of them being “Mandra Filmes” copyrighted, company which he is a owner member.
Going beyond the exhibitions, the aim of the festival is to hold debates and meetings that directly contribute to the formation and enhancement of the animation market of the State, projecting it internationally.
